We Love Brixton Market

If you fancy a little culinary adventure you should come to Brixton Market! It is just around the corner from Brixton Tube Station so you can’t miss it; just roll with the flow. Although I really like Borough Market I have to say it turned out to be too touristic for my likings. It became more of an attraction than an actual market where you go and shop some food.

Brixton Market is of course totally different. You hardly get any tourists there; instead you get a nice mix of people: some Rasta, some young arty people and old ladies doing their grocery shopping. Best is you go there yourself to get an idea. I added a few pics from last weekend so you get an impression of the average Saturday crowd.

Last but not least, I give you one essential tip:

Don’t go there with a hangover. You will shortly see why.

The beginning of the market at Electric Avenue

He was posing for my pic…

Some people don’t like the smell of the meat and there are a lot of meat and fish shops. That’s why I said you need a good stomach…

Lots of nice Caribbean fruit and veg…

The 1 pound corner…

More fruit and veg…

Fresh Fish…

At Brixton Village: Best Pizza in town!

Never underestimate the magic of a good wig…

Lots of lovely cafes and shops in the actual village…

Cool baby stuff…

And real chickens!

Gorgeous little cafes everywhere…

I love the idea with the toater on the table, so cool…

This cool lady is selling her stuff outside the Village…

The exquiste Jerk Chicken outside the market…the best smell in the world!
